10th candidate files for Chelsea City Council election: will there be more?

Chelsea logoFormer Village Council Member and former Downtown Development Authority Board Member Jim Myles has laid the rumors to rest and officially filed for one of the three 4-year seats on the City Council for the Nov. 5 Chelsea City Council election.

As of Monday, Aug. 5, this brings the total to 10 candidates who have made it official.

To date, there are six candidates seeking three 4-year seats on the City Council. In addition to Myles, (alphabetically are ) Council Member Cheri Albertson,  Planning Commissioners Jeff Blazok and Melissa Johnson, and Council Members Marcia Parker and Dustin Suntheimer.

And there are three candidates running for the two 2-year seats. They are (alphabetically) Current Council Member Frank Hammer, Susan J. Moore and Jane Pacheco.

Mayor Jason Lindauer is the only candidate who is running for re-election unopposed for his current seat as mayor.

Interested candidates still have until 4 p.m. on Aug. 13 to file an Affidavit of Identity and signed petitions, and must specify which seat they plan to seek. To download a candidate packet please click here.To download a petition, please click here.

The only seat that is not up for election in November is held by current Council Member Rod Anderson
