Aug. 1: check out Pregitzer Farm offerings at the Wednesday Farmers Market

By Lisa Carolin

Pregitzer Farm is back at the Wednesday Chelsea Farmers Market offering CSA shares and seasonal vegetables.

The farm is located in Munith, Mich., and offers itself as a destination for field trips and events with the goal to educate people about farm life and eating locally.

The health of the farm’s soil and produce is a priority. Pregitzer Farm uses conventional tillage and Integrated Pest Management, an effective and environmentally sensitive approach to pest management. Most plants are grown in plastic culture, which preserves moisture and controls weeds.

Visit the Pregitzer Farm stand Wednesday for fresh produce including corn, zucchini, yellow squash, peppers, green beans, and other seasonal vegetables.

You’ll also find seasonal fruits at the Wednesday market including blueberries and cherries, along with cheeses, honey and baked goods.

The market runs from 2-6 p.m. and is located at the Chelsea State Bank parking lot at the intersection of M-52 and Old US12.

These are the Wednesday vendors, though not every vendor is guaranteed to be there.
