The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced its High School National Academic Squad this February, recognizing more than 2,415 senior and junior student-athletes from 297 schools.

Three Chelsea Field Hockey players were honored.
The National Academic Squad program honors high school seniors and juniors who have achieved a minimum cumulative, unweighted Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 out of 4.0 or the equivalent through the first quarter of the 2018-2019 school year.

Chelsea Field Hockey’s scholar athletes include seniors and out-going co-captains Payton Doan and Alexandra Chalogianis. Incoming co-captain Molly Latimer, a junior, was also recognized.

Doan and Latimer also earned Scholars of Distinction for a minimum cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.9 out of 4.0 or the equivalent through the first quarter of the 2018-2019.

Chelsea Field Hockey is celebrating 15 years of field hockey in 2019. The team welcomes new athletes and returning athletes to Whip-It Camp, June 17-21. For the first time, camp will be held at the CHS Stadium from 3-6 p.m.

The high school team conditions throughout the summer and begins preseason on Aug. 12 with the first in-season games the week of Aug.19. Team camp is Aug.3-4 at University of Michigan.

Registration for Whip-It Camp and the high school and middle school fall teams opens in April/early May. Updates will be posted on the team’s website at chelseafieldhockey.org.
