Chelsea frosh football wins big

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Dennis Strzyzewski for the information in this story.)

The Chelsea freshman football team defeated Southgate Anderson Thursday by a score of 41-0.

The Bulldogs took a 35-0 lead into halftime and scored once more in the third quarter to get to the final score.

Jason Skoczylas ran for two scores and threw for two touchdowns.

Jacob Lee and Hunter Sciackatano each had touchdown catches in the game.  Hayden Westcott scored on a 12-yard touchdown run and Mathew Gietzen scored on an interception return on the last play of the first half.

Defensively, Chelsea was led by Braden Watson, Carter Alexander, and Jacob Singer who all made big plays throughout the game.

“Our kids had to get through some adversity with injury this week, but guys stepped up and played well,” said coach Dennis Strzyzewski. “We probably didn’t do a great job of teaching the kids earlier in the season, but they seem to have a better understanding of the schemes and techniques now, and it is showing on the field.”

He said, “It was fun to see the guys make some plays and get excited for each other’s success. When the kids pull for each other and are truly happy for a teammates good play, there is nothing better.”
