Chelsea High School, Beach Middle School Athletics Cashless Ticket Sales Explained

With the return of Chelsea High School and Beach Middle School sports, the district has implemented a new ticket system – cashless ticket sales at the gates.

Fans can still buy individual game tickets at the gate. But be sure to bring your phone and a credit or debit card, to purchase individual game tickets at $6 each.

The better value is to purchase a season pass at www.GoFan.co, which is good for all MHSAA home regular season sporting events.

Adults can purchase a season pass for all high school and middle school athletic events for $50 and students grades K-12 pay $12.50 for the year.

Senior citizens 62 and older are free, but you must bring proof you are a resident of the Chelsea School District and go to the high school to get a pass with your name on it from the athletic department.

There are a number of reasons for the change, among them, this cashless system is more secure and safe for everyone involved, said Assistant Athletic Director Jason Morris, who is overseeing the implementation of the new system.

At football games, for example, previously, volunteers selling tickets were also overseeing thousands of dollars in cash in the cash boxes that then had to be counted and transported to other locations to be deposited into the general fund of the school district said Administrative Assistant Tracie Stoffer.

It saves time and affords greater accountability for the district officials as well. The company managing the system sends a complete accounting of ticket sales for the week and a check to the district, Morris said.

This change to a cashless system is being utilized by about three-quarters of the schools in the state, said Athletic Director Brad Bush.

Athletics officials are now easily able to account for individual sport ticket sales with the new system as well.

The yearly family cost:

  • 2 adults and 1 student: $112.50
  • 2 adults and 2 students: $125
  • 2 adults and 3 students: $137.50
  • 2 adults and 4 students: $140
