The Chelsea Girl’s Track and Field team won the Stockbridge Invite Friday night, May 2.

“It was rainy and not very nice weather, but we are happy with the way that the girls competed and stayed focused on their individual and team goals,” said coach Shane Rodriquez.

Laura McGrath won the 200 meter dash, Karana Wickens won the 2-mile race, and the 4×200 team took home the gold as well.

The Chelsea girl’s team has now won 3 invites this year, and we hope to continue that success for the rest of the season.

“Many other medals were earned, and we look forward to our last SEC meet at home against Lincoln on Tuesday,” the coach said.

Here are the results.

“The season is quickly winding down now with just four weeks to go,” the coach said, adding the girls will need all the focus and attention to detail to accomplish our goals, but this is a special group of girls capable of anything.”
