Chelsea Kiwanis Club drive thru nut sale today in Chelsea State Bank Parking lot

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this story.)

At Monday’s Chelsea Kiwanis Club Zoom meeting, members will hear from Melissa McMann, youth protection specialist, from Kiwanis International.

As the premier provider of youth service clubs and programs, Kiwanis International holds itself and its members to the highest standards of conduct and awareness. Each year, more than 300,000 youth take part in Kiwanis Service Leadership Programs like K-Kids, Builders Club and Key Club. Kiwanis reaches millions more youth around the world through club and district service projects. When we work with and mentor youth during projects and activities, their care and welfare are entrusted to us.

Kiwanis members must know how to protect the youth with whom we interact. When we all share this commitment, we also protect ourselves and the organization we value. Kiwanis International has taken extensive action to equip Kiwanis Clubs, districts and Service Leadership Programs with the tools to provide safe and secure environments for youth.

Our Chelsea club regularly works with Chelsea High School Key Club on activities and projects. Some of these include: Community Easter Egg Hunt, Cooper’s Fun Run, Kid’s Fair Parade, Community Halloween Party, Leaf Raking for Seniors, and Breakfast with Santa.

Pre-Covid, our club also has participated in the SRSLY New Year’s Eve Party. This year the party is virtual, so we have contributed to support the fun kits being prepared for each family to take home for the party.

Our Mixed Nut and Chocolate Sale continues. We will be having a drive-through event at Chelsea State Bank parking lot, corner Main Street and Old US 12, today until 4 p.m. Please motor by to pick up some delicious treats for yourself or as excellent gifts. Payments accepted include: cash, check, Venmo, or credit card.
