Chelsea Kiwanis to learn about Girls State

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this story.)

Monday, the Chelsea Kiwanis Club will hear from Briana Hay and Madilynn O’Hara, Chelsea High School students who attended the American Legion Auxiliary’s Girls State program last summer.

The program immerses participants in the mechanics of state government. Each person can run for an office and see what is involved in running our state’s business.

Members and their spouses enjoyed a delectable Valentine Dinner on Feb. 11. The hospital always makes it an impressive occasion with a private room, table presentation, and special menu.

Chelsea Kiwanis meets each Monday at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital cafeteria, and the speakers begin at about 6:45 p.m.

Everyone is invited to the club’s meetings to enjoy our speakers and learn about Kiwanis.
