Chelsea’s Comfort Inn and Village Conference Center, located at 1645 Commerce Park Dr., will soon be the home of NorthRock Church. The church will hold its first services on Christmas Eve at both 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Dec. 24.

The new Chelsea location was chosen because it is between NorthRock Church’s other two campuses in Ann Arbor and Jackson.

“North Rock Chelsea seeks to provide those connected to surrounding smaller communities a place to worship closer to home,” said Brian Mitchell, NorthRock Church Chelsea Campus pastor.

“We are a non-denominational church that exists to help people become fully devoted followers of Christ,” he said, adding, “With a clear direction and firm foundation, we desire to know God personally, find freedom from our yesterdays, discover purpose for life, and make a difference in the world around us.”

Mitchell’s spiritual mentor of 25 years, a pastor in Toledo, Ohio, had a long-standing relationship with NorthRock’s founding pastor, which led Mitchell to join the launch team at NorthRock’s Jackson campus, where he served as the spiritual formation leader.

“We grew personally and spiritually ourselves and experienced a deepening in our relationships with those leading NorthRock,” said Mitchell. “When Chelsea was considered for NorthRock’s third campus, our journey to make an impact in God’s kingdom reaffirmed my decision to leave a corporate career for a calling two years ago.”

Mitchell says NorthRock’s Chelsea church should be open in April of 2020. He encourages anyone interested in learning more about the church to go to its Facebook site at NorthRock Church Chelsea and on Instagram at nr.churchchelsea.
