Feb. 3-5: 45th Annual American Legion Post 31 Winter Carnival

For the 45th time, Chelsea American Legion Post 31 will host its annual winter carnival Feb. 3-4 with a special kid’s carnival on Feb. 5.

Everyone is welcome. 

Winter Carnival gets underway on Friday, Feb. 3 at 4 p.m. and the annual Euchre Tournament begins at 7 p.m. There is a $10 entry fee and you must be 18 years old to enter.

On Saturday, Feb. 4, everyone is invited to begin their day with breakfast at the post, 1700 Ridge Road in Sylvan Township, at 7 a.m. The menu, which continues until noon is a la carte. Food and beverages will be served throughout the carnival weekend.

Also on Feb. 4, ice conditions permitting, the annual fishing derby is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m.

Be sure to purchase your raffle tickets and support veteran’s activities and projects as the raffle drawing will take place between 5-6 p.m.

Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Star 69, a live band, will begin playing and the music and dancing continues until 11 p.m.

On Sunday, Feb. 4, breakfast will be served beginning at 7 a.m. but there will be no alcohol served in the Legion Hall. From noon until 2 p.m., the 4th Annual Kids

Carnival will take place upstairs with games, food and fun. The cost is 25 cents per ticket.

Winter Carnival will end with the close of the kids carnival.
