Help Chelsea Baseball Club go to Battle of Omaha Tournament

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Lenny Sims for the information in this story.)

Since the Taylor Michigan Little League team won the Little League World Series this year, our coach said, . . . “Why not us?”

Normally, we’re traveling no more than 1 hour for our games but since we went 15 and 4 last season and won our league title, he decided to go big. We’ve signed up for the Battle of Omaha tournament.

So, our 12 and under Chelsea Baseball Club team will be playing in a tournament in Nebraska that is in conjunction with the College World Series so we also get tickets to go see some of those games.

It will be quite the experience for the boys.

On Oct. 9, all the boys canvassed the downtown businesses asking for donations, which forced them to get out of their comfort zones and they were able to secure more than $300 in cash donations and more than $900 worth of gift cards.

One raffle is a home improvement prize that has tools and paint etc., and a painter has volunteered to paint a few rooms in someone’s home.

The second raffle option is a Yeti cooler full of liquor valued at well over $500.

The third raffle option will be the “Choices of Chelsea” that is a combination of the gift cards we collected.

We hope all our efforts will help us reach our goal and in turn these raffles will help give business back to those local businesses that helped us get to Omaha.

The drawing will be Dec. 12 and there is a cutoff date of Dec. 6 to purchase tickets. You can use VENMO to pay for a ticket or contact Lenny Sims at 734-748-8209 to make other arrangements.
