Congressman Tim Walberg recently announced that three local students he nominated to U.S. military academies had received appointments.

“It’s an honor for me to nominate these bright and service-oriented young men and women and congratulate them on their appointments. I’m confident in their ability to continue making us proud as they join our nation’s finest and I wish them all the best in their immediate and future endeavors,” said Walberg.

The following students received an appointment to attend a U.S. Military Academy:

From Chelsea High School, James Robert Straub to the United States Air Force Academy.

From Dexter High School, Abigail Mesaros to the United States Naval Academy and Louis Christopher Kurcz to the United States Military Academy.
