Jan. 30: Lyndon Township Planners to hold public hearing for gravel pit special use

The Lyndon Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. for special land use request by McCoig Materials, Inc., a company that provides ready-mix concretes, which would like to remove sand and gravel from a 158-acre site in Lyndon Township.

According to the company’s Website, McCoig Materials serves the metro-Detroit area with six strategically located permanent plant locations and its concrete materials are certified by the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association and the Michigan Department of Transportation.

The proposed Lyndon Township site is between M-52 and North Territorial and is located between the Waterloo and Pinckney Recreation Areas.

The meeting will take place at Lyndon Township Hall at 17751 North Territorial Road and begin at 7 p.m.

The company is seeking a special land use application and permit.

The proposed removal of sand and gravel as permitted in Chapter 5, Section 5.3, paragraph I of the Lyndon Township Zoning Ordinance. You can read the ordinance here.
