Job hunting? Check out the Chelsea Jobs Facebook Group

By Lisa Carolin

If you’re looking for a job in the Chelsea area, the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce has a resource for you.

It’s called Chelsea Jobs Facebook Group, and it’s a place for job seekers to check out postings from local employers and for employers to post links to their job sites. From St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea to businesses in downtown Chelsea to job openings in nearby townships and cities, Chelsea Jobs is an up-to-date way to stay on top of the job market.

According to Monica Monsma, executive director of the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce, the Facebook group was started in September to help employers find qualified applicants.

“Many businesses in Chelsea have mentioned that it’s difficult getting folks to apply for their open positions, so Eddie Greenleaf, (president of the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors and owner and operator of Chelsea Lanes, who spearheaded the project), thought this would be a great way to help attract more applicants to Chelsea,” said Monsma.

She calls it an added benefit to being a member of the chamber.

“Attracting both local and regional employees is our goal,” said Monsma. “We primarily want to share the great opportunities here in Chelsea with a as many people as possible. Serving our business community is our number one priority.”
