Sounds & Sights on Thursday Nights, presented by Rick Taylor Real Estate – Reinhart Realtors continues its free summer concert series Thursday, June 13 from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m.

Professional artists perform at ten staged areas located throughout downtown Chelsea showcasing music, jugglers and circus-esque aerial performances.

The diverse music line-up features several Michigan artists, including award winning country-folk artist Bob Pogue performing at the new Palmer Commons stage on Main Street.

Songwriting duo Escaping Pavement masterfully blend and blur the lines of Bluegrass, Folk, and Americana at South Street.

Billy Mack & the Juke Joint Johnnies return to E. Middle Street with vintage rock-n-roll music while the American duo, The Potter’s Field, perform at Sylvan Courtyard.

Just north of the railroad tracks, tap dancers 2×4 perform at the Glazier Building and at the Clocktower Gazebo, David C. Bloom & Friends perform jazz standards and ballads of the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s.

There is something for the whole family including Eric the Juggler at the Clocktower Courtyard stage, and balloon animals created by 3 Generations Entertainment at the Main Street Alley.

The Chelsea District Library hosts Korner Stage: Aviary Aerial & Circus Arts from 7 to 8 p.m. at Katie’s Korner on the Library lawn. Acrobats move through the sky in this visually thrilling, circus-esque aerial performance. Using fabric, ropes, and hoops, Aviary members show off stunning moves suspended in the air.

The “Sights” of Sounds & Sights include the free “How to Chalk” seminars each week beneath the Clocktower.  Everyone is invited to transform the pavement into colorful works of art, this week the focus is Pokémon®.

Visitors are also invited to explore the new installation of SculptureWalk Chelsea, a self-guided walking tour of 13 juried sculptures.

Chelsea Area Festivals & Events is a not-for-profit organization that enriches Chelsea, and the surrounding communities, by promoting the presentation of and participation in quality performing and visual arts throughout the year.
