Chelsea’s restaurant scene is as vibrant as any small town community’s can be.

When a number of them come together to support St. Louis Center, it offers attendees a chance to sample everyone’s food in one place. That was the case on Oct. 6 when 21 establishments came together at St. Mary Catholic Church to share some of their favorite selections with the community.

This year’s local participants included: Arctic Breakaway, Chelsea Bakery, Chelsea Big Boy, Chelsea Comfort Inn, Chelsea Milling, Clear Lake Grill, Common Grill, Cottage Inn Pizza, Culver’s of Scio Twp., Fr. Bill’s Rice Pudding, Fr. Satheesh’s Indian Chicken, Good Times Kettle Corn, Indian Brook Trout Farm, Los Tres Amigos, Mancino’s – Zeeb Rd., Smokehouse 52 BBQ, Stivers, Thompson’s Pizza, True North Jerky, Uptown Coney Island, and Zou Zou’s Café.

A number of businesses and individuals were event sponsors this year at two levels, and included:

$500 “Master Chef” Sponsors:  Chelsea Dermatology – Dr. Jona Gill, Chelsea K of C Council #3092, St. Joseph Mercy Hospital-Chelsea and Ruralreach.com.

While $100 “Sous Chef” Sponsors included: Bordine Farms, Chelsea Chevrolet-Buick, Chelsea Chiropractic Center, Golling Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram; Donna Hrozencik, M.D. and Mark Ouimet, Great Lakes Ace Hardware, In-Chelsea Hair Design, Jeff Klink and Associates, JF Dunn Enterprises, Inc., Koch & White Heating & Cooling, Reimco Building Co., Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, and Hon. Judge Kirk W. Tabbey, 14-A District Court.

According to Public Relations Director Joe Yekulis, “We had another great turn-out from the local community, and we are very grateful to the many people who continue to come out and support our events. This year’s event grossed nearly $10,000 for the residents of St. Louis Center”

St. Louis Center is a residential care facility for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
