Meet Leslie Olivarez and learn about her new career

Leslie-O

If you attend Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce events, you’ve probably seen Leslie Olivarez wearing a welcoming smile and supporting fellow small business owners.

She works as an independent consultant for a company that’s headed by two of the nation’s top dermatologists who partner with independent business owners across the United States “to redefine the future of aging.”

In addition to selling an extensive line of medicated skin care products, she also helps others get started in owning their own independent businesses in this exciting field.

Already familiar with the health care industry following 30 years on the business sector  at Chelsea Community Hospital, changes at the hospital sparked a desire for her to not only look for something else that would generate income, but also afford Olivarez more balance in her life.

After learning from a friend about this anti-aging skin care company, Olivarez did her own research.

“The company said they would pay me to use their new product line, and develop new markets across the U.S,” Olivarez says.

(Plus, the company plans to begin international expansion in Canada starting next year.)

“Since I already had a passion for serving others,” thanks to her time at the hospital, this opportunity seemed worth pursuing.

So, she worked it around her very busy schedule on a part-time basis and was so successful she was able to walk away from her corporate career.

“I was getting ready to be remarried, planning a wedding, had honeymoon expenses and a daughter in college,” she says, adding, “I was at a crossroad in my life, and was looking for other opportunities that could create another source of income.”

One week after starting her new lifestyle and career, Olivarez got the news that her mom had some health issues.

But, because of the flexible time now afforded to her, Olivarez says she was able to schedule all the time she needed to take her mother to doctor’s appointments and oversee her follow-up care – something that wouldn’t have been possible in her former life.

This new balanced lifestyle is great for moms with children, she says, because each consultant determines how much time is spent working and how much is spent doing other things.

Olivarez is now helping others “change skin and change lives,” she says, “within a company whose philosophy is all about the highest integrity in their business practices, but also products that she wholeheartedly believes in.”

Who could pass up an opportunity that includes “time freedom, earn as I learned, and the ability to give myself a raise every month?” she asks.

“It’s called lifestyle networking. It’s a simple business model that you leverage your time. You can work this business while we go about our daily lives.” Olivarez says.

In the beginning, she says, the business helped her pay for her wedding and honeymoon.

Then it helped pay her household bills.

In addition, the company offers great incentives for achieving your goals, she says.

Now she has “a new sense of time freedom, I see a sense of joy, peace, lowered stress level and contentment returning that I haven’t felt in years.”

And, she can get involved in more community events where you’ll frequently find her.

The company she represents was named the 2010 Rising Star by the Direct Selling Association (DSA) for “its dedication to achieving a high standard of excellence in business operations,” and its products have been featured in a number of woman’s and well-known magazines.

“I’m so glad I said yes to me,” she says. “The impossible, really is possible when your heart is in it and you have the right vehicle.”
