This November marks the 30th Anniversary of National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month, which was first declared by President Ronald Reagan.

Since then, there has been substantial progress in the fight against Alzheimer’s, but there are more than 5 million American’s living with this disease.

To date, there is no prevention, cure or even ways to slow its progression, according to information from the Alzheimer’s Association.

“This is still a disease that needs a strong fight,” according to the information .

Recognizing early signs of Alzheimer’s is one of the first steps residents in Michigan can take to create awareness and provide help for those facing this deadly disease. The Alzheimer’s Association has created a list of “10 Warning Signs” to help educate about the early signs of Alzheimer’s.
