The Chelsea Area Historical Society is hosting Monitor Base Ball Club of Chelsea captain “Honest Jon” Van Hoek on Monday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. at the Chelsea Depot.
He will talk about the history of America’s pastime from its earliest days, and about playing by 1860s rules in today’s craze of vintage base ball clubs. Come learn more about this family-friendly activity in Chelsea’s own backyard.
