Oct. 15: Local Hops and Beer Tour fundraiser for Chelsea Community Kitchen

CCK-logo-smallChelsea Community Kitchen (CCK) invites you to join a Hops and Beer Tour of local growers and brewers.

The tour is a fundraising event that supports CCK’s mission of education, access, and support for healthy, local food.

On Saturday, Oct. 15 from 2-5 p.m., Savor: A Local Hops and Beer Tour begins at the Chelsea Alehouse where participants will climb aboard chauffeured vans to the first stop–Groovy Hopster farm to tour the hops crop and sample the new Fresh Hop Ale from Unity Vibration and food pairings.

Then it’s on to the home of Plow Point Brewing to meet the experienced home-brewers and proprietors of this soon to launch new craft brewery. Sample their wares, learn more about their start-up adventures and enjoy more food pairing before returning to the Chelsea Alehouse for a behind the scenes tour and a final round of craft beer and appetizers.

It’s a perfect way for home-brewers and craft beer lovers to spend an autumn day says Jane Pacheco, CCK board member and tour organizer, “The Chelsea area is really beginning to develop its own distinctive beer culture, and this tour gives people a glimpse of the growers and brewers making that happen.”

Tickets are $45 and available at www.chelseacommunitykitchen.org/events/cooking-healthyfood/craft-beer-tour-and-tasting/
