Publisher’s message: Chelsea Update has a new ‘home’

A huge thank you goes out to Leslie Surel and her team at Surelutions, Chelsea Update’s behind the scenes website guru, who worked through the night this weekend to move the site to a new “home.”

Readers might have noticed that the site was moving at the speed of a glacier.

No, it wasn’t cold.

No, it wasn’t your computer or phone.

It was the previous server on which it was housed.

I want to also thank readers and advertisers for your patience and understanding last week.

The problems were a result of an increase in readership (big smile) and the complexity of the news site. Chelsea Update simply outgrew its previous “home/server” and needed to move to a larger one. That took place during the wee hours of Saturday. And as with any “move,” some boxes still need to be unpacked, but for now, the site seems to be performing admirably.

I can’t thank these two awesome people enough for rearranging their lives to accommodate this unexpected task. Good things happen when you support your fellow business owners. This is a perfect example.

Now I better get back to work to continue providing you with all the news that’s fit to post about Chelsea.

  1. Thank you for all you do for the Chelsea community, Lisa. You have put in your fair share (and then some) of long hours and continously go out of your way to promote local businesses. We are always happy to help you and Chelsea Update!

  2. Happy to have Chelsea Update improved. As of the moment clicking on the read more one finds only a blank page. Guessing the upgrade is still being completed.
