Publisher’s message: Please consider making a donation to Chelsea Update

I hate to ask for donations to Chelsea Update, but support from readers is an important part of the continuation of your daily local news source.

Blame this plea on the two four-legged staff members, who rely on me to put food in their bowls twice a day.

I spend about 10-12 hours a day, six days a week, bringing you all the news that’s fit to print about the community. And, since I launched this venture, that equates to 5,956 published posts. It’s my full-time job and this is a one-person news organization. There is no corporate backing.

So while you may read other publications that have a staff to bring you the news, sell and bill advertisers, edit and photograph stories and features, and respond to all of your email and phone inquires, at Chelsea Update, all of these duties belong to me.

Many businesses are supporting my efforts and the importance of Chelsea Update was recognized with the Chelsea Area Chamber of Commerce Small Business Leader of the Year award, so please help keep my efforts going strong as I head toward my third anniversary.

If you enjoy what you read on Chelsea Update and want to see it continue, or if I’ve helped get the word out about your organization or event please, please, PLEASE consider making a donation of any amount to my efforts.

Checks can be sent to Chelsea Update, 18829 Bush Road, Chelsea MI 48118 or you can make a donation through Paypal.

I’d also like to take a moment to thank the following people who have made recent donations to my efforts:

  • David and Ann Gilbert
  • Jean Vargas
  • Vincent and Shirley Burg
  • The Kundak Cowall Family
  • Jim and Dorothy Boughton
  • Sharewords
