(Chelsea Update would like to thank Katie Doral for the information in this story.)

The Purple Rose Theatre Company will end its 2014/15 season with the surefire summer sensation, world-premiere Zombie thriller, 2AZ by Michael Brian Ogden.

What would you miss most if everything that makes us free and civilized human beings ceased to exist? A warm shower? Clean sheets? Grocery stores? Movie theaters? Toilet paper? The war has been raging for 2 long years. No one is content. No one is secure. No one is safe from man, beast or worse. The great and terrible conflict will decide whether humanity will perish from this earth or have a new birth of hope.

Michael Brian Ogden’s (Corktown, Bleeding Red) world premiere thriller digs deep into the recesses of our souls to face the monster that may be lurking in all of us. Join us for this truly unique theatrical event.  2AZ contains violence, adult language, and may not be suitable for children under the age of 12.

2AZ will enjoy a 12-week engagement at The Purple Rose Theatre Company from Thursday, June 11-Saturday, Aug. 29. Eight low-priced previews will be performed Thursday, June 11–Thursday, June 18, with press opening on Friday, June 19.

Regular performances for the duration of the run are Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. with Saturday matinees at 3 p.m. and Wednesday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

Directed by PRTC Artistic Director Guy Sanville, the cast will feature David Bendena (Chelsea), Aja Brandmeier (West Bloomfield), Stephanie Buck (Chelsea), David Daoust (Lansing), Devin Faught (Okemos), Lauren Knox (Macomb), Owen Likely (Belle Mead, NJ), Rusty Mewha (Plymouth), Michelle Mountain (Grass Lake), Rob Najarian (Ann Arbor), Michael Brian Ogden (Chelsea), Drew Parker (Ferndale), Rhiannon Ragland (Gregory), April Warner (Dublin, OH), Tom Whalen (Royal Oak) and Nina White (Grosse Pointe Park).

Underwriting support for the season comes from The Ford Motor Company Fund, The Hamp Family Fund, and the Matilda R. Wilson Fund.
