The Purple Rose Theatre Company will ring in the new year with the powerful play, Redwood Curtain, by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, PRTC touchstone and benefactor, Lanford Wilson.

Redwood Curtain introduces audiences to Geri, a young prodigy searching for her birth father. While visiting her aunt in northern California, Geri meets a homeless veteran, Lyman, who has chosen to hide behind the curtain of the Redwood Forest. Discovering startling similarities between Lyman and her natural father, she decides he is the key to her true heritage. From the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Talley’s Folly, Book of Days, and Rain Dance comes a magical and humorous story of family and self-discovery. Redwood Curtain contains mild adult language.

Redwood Curtain will have a nine-week engagement at The Purple Rose Theatre Company from Thursday, Jan. 16 – Saturday, March 15, 2014. Eight low-priced previews will be performed Friday, Jan. 16 – Thursday, Jan. 23, with press opening on Friday, Jan. 24, 2014. Regular performances for the duration of the run are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m. with Wednesday and Saturday matinees at 3 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.
