Jerry Lee Waldyke, M.D. of Chelsea, age 84, unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022, at Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor.
He was born Aug. 14, 1938, in Zeeland, Michigan, the son of Joseph Henry and Diletta (Buter) Waldyke.
Dr. Waldyke was a family physician in the Chelsea area for many years and was one of the founders of Chelsea Hospital. He was a member of Ann Arbor Christian Reformed Church and worked with the Boy Scouts, Special Olympics, and the Chelsea Schools Sex Education Committee.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 19, 11:00 a.m. at Ann Arbor Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Kristen Livingston and Rev. LeAnn Seto officiating. A private burial will be at Oak Grove East Cemetery in Chelsea. The family will receive friends at Cole Funeral Chapel Sunday, Sept. 18, from 1-4 pm and 6-8 pm and at the church Monday from 10-11 am.
