Reminder: Chelsea Community Fair kitchen looking for volunteers

Ginny and Shelley Wheaton are back serving meals at the fair restaurant.

One of the best places to find long lost friends at the Chelsea Community Fair is inside in the Service Center Building at the Chelsea Fair Kitchen.

The 80th annual Chelsea Community Fair takes place this year from Tuesday, Aug. 22-Saturday, Aug. 26. For a list of events, please click here.

Between the terrific daily menu (below) and the air conditioning, the fair kitchen is a great place to get a wonderful meal, take a break from all the fair fun and cool off if the temperatures have wiped you out.

Another fun way to stay cool and see folks is to volunteer to help Shelly and Ginny Wheaton run the dining room and kitchen. It takes about 25 people to keep everything running smoothly and the Wheatons could use a few more volunteers to assist them in the kitchen as well as in the dining room. It would make a great service project for a community group or a way to be part of one of the most popular fair experiences.

“We are hoping people will be willing to volunteer for even one shift,” Shelley Wheaton says, so please call 475-0792 or 720-317-9295 and offer a helping hand.

Jobs include everything from scooping vegetables to picking up and delivering meals to helping in the kitchen. Folks can volunteer for a few hours, a shift or a whole day. Or multiple days.
