SRSLY promotes a safe homecoming weekend with the help of pizza

SRSLY partnered with local pizzerias on Oct. 3-5 to send flyers home with hundreds of pizza boxes to wish everyone a safe homecoming weekend.

The flyers also reminded adults that it’s illegal to purchase or provide alcohol to youth.

Chelsea’s three local pizzerias – Cottage Inn, Jet’s, and Thompson’s – all participated in support of keeping youth safe. SRSLY youth even lent a helping hand at Thompson’s by helping tape flyers to about 100 boxes.

SRSLY also aims to keep youth safe over homecoming by promoting its Safe Homes initiative. A “SRSLY Safe Home” is committed to providing a substance-free environment for youth. Kids and adults can be confident that minors under the age of 21 will not be offered or allowed to use drugs or alcohol while they are in these families’ homes.

A list of more than 200 local families that have committed to being a SRLSY Safe Home is on the SRSLY website at www.srslychelsea.org. Families also can show they are a Safe Home by displaying their “SRSLY Safe” yard sign.
