A reminder to sign up for a free child car seat safety check at Village Motors

This is a reminder about the free child car seat checks to be held at Village Motor Sales on July 18 from 3-7 p.m. at 1185 S. Main St.

Parents are asked to call 475-8661 to reserve a time slot.

Vehicle passenger safety studies reveal that nearly 80 percent of children’s car seats used nationwide are not properly installed. To address this problem, Village Motor Sales  and Rainbow Child Care Center  have teamed up with U- M to offer free safety seat checks and installation instructions for area families.

The checks will be performed by certified child passenger safety technicians and time slots are every 30 minutes.

In addition to the safety checks there will be pizza from Cottage Inn and activities for the kids. Chelsea Lanes will provide a bowling-for-prizes game, and local youth will offer face painting.
