Antiques expert to offer free appraisals at the library

Ever wonder what that family heirloom might be worth?

Antiques expert Joseph Merkel will inspect and offer a verbal appraisal of items at Chelsea District Library’s Antique Appraisals event on Saturday, Oct. 26 from noon – 4:30pm in the Library’s McKune Room.

This free event gives Chelsea residents the opportunity to learn about the background and potential value of their antiques.

There is a two–item limit per person; all antiques and collectibles that can be hand-carried are welcome.

Merkel is an antiques expert with more than 25 years in the business of auctions, estate sales, and appraisals.

For those seeking appraisals, advance registration is required. Please call ahead to reserve a time slot at 475-8732, ext. 219. register now as space is limited.

The item inspection and appraisal process will be broadcast on a big screen, so spectators are encouraged to join in and watch the proceedings without registering.
