Beach Middle School cross country, volleyball sports recap from Wednesday

The Beach Middle School Cross Country Team had a good showing Wednesday at the SEC Jamboree #3 in Tecumseh.

The boys earned 5th place out of 7 teams (missing Adrian by a few points).  Standouts for the boys were Brandon DeGracia and Jacob Smedshammer, who continued to improve and help with team points.

The girls placed 2nd out 6 teams in a competitive field. Syndee Liedel led the charge placing 3rd overall in the field and running a fast time for the course.  Morgan Kurth and Allison Hause also ran solid races and contributed to the team placing so well.

The 7th Grade Gold Volleyball Team beat Ypsilanti in all three matches last night.

Kayla Jones served six serves right over the net with three aces. Paulina Perkins served 5 in a row with three aces, Alexa Schumann did the same exact thing with 5 serves and three aces. Logan Brosnan had a kill.

The 7th Grade Blue Volleyball team played their best match of the season but had a heartbreaking loss. The team lost the first game 20-25, won the 2nd game 25-17 and lost the 3rd game 23-25.

Abbie Blough was on fire with 11 service points and several great defensive plays. Morgan DeYoe and Kelsey Weinreich each chipped in 5 serve points, Olivia Beauchamp and Rachel Koziminski each had 3, Kiersten Anstead, Maddie Bainton, Marianna Carpenter, Maddie Christie, and Riley McGufin each had 1.

The 8th Grade Gold volleyball team easily won all three sets in their match with Ypsilanti Wednesday night.

Ashley Watson, Caitlin Dusenbury and Maddie Kemp served well for the Bulldogs. Shae Wright had a good hit to the back row.

The 8th Grade Blue Volleyball team went 1-2 during Wednesday night’s game against Lincoln.

During the first game, the Bulldogs were down by over 10 points and came back to win it, thanks to Stephanie Dark‘s 13 service point run. Ali Boham had seven service points for the Bulldogs. Emily Savery and Madeleine Kennedy had some incredible blocks. Angelia Daman had a couple impressive spikes.

The Bulldogs look forward to playing Dexter at home next Monday.
