Beach Middle School volleyball teams continue to improve

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Dave Brinklow, Pennie Ward and Laura Ouellette for the information in this story.)

7th grade blue

The 7th grade blue volleyball team put together its best effort of the season so far in a home game against Lincoln Monday night.

The team won the first set 28-26 behind strong serving from Caroline Knight. Despite losing the 2nd set 19-25, the Bulldogs had outstanding passing from Addie McCarthy, Maya Valik, Claire Zarinnia, Tabitha Alery, Maggie Baldwin, Elsa Baize, Emily Gagnon and Chloe Gray.

The Bulldogs won the third set 25-19 with consistent serving and passing in a great all-around team effort.

8th grade blue

The Chelsea 8th grade blue got the job done last night beating Lincoln all three sets – 25-9, 25-20, 25-23.

Each time we play, I see improvement with this team.

Top servers last night were Anna Reisner, Kayla Munson, Meghan Bouton and Adrija Skiotys.

7th grade gold

The 7th grade gold volleyball fell hard vs Monroe losing all 3 sets 25-20, 26-24, 25-10.

Even though the team was defeated they continue to improve as a team putting together multiple hits.

Charlotte Diesing, Sasha French, and Gabriella Basar had good spikes during the first set with nice team setting provided.

Jenna Ouellette and Emma Ward dug deep with a couple great saves under pressure and Lindsay Favre had a nice set. Kyah Mitchell and Meghan Bareis also had consistent serving to close the gaps during the match.
