The Chelsea Girls track and field team ran at the MITCA team state championship on Saturday, May 23  in Linden.

The team placed 9th of the top 9 teams in the state. Although we did not run our “full strength” lineup, we did have some excellent showings in some individual and relay performances.

Highlights of the meet were:
Laura McGrath placing 1st in the 100 dash and 2nd in the 200 dash
Christine Schultz placed 1st in the pole vault
The 4×100 and 4×200 relay teams both took 3rd place.
Karana Wickens took 3rd place in the 2 mile.

The eight MHSAA state finals qualifiers will travel to Zeeland on Saturday, May 30 to compete for spots on the podium at the state championship.
