Chelsea JV Football Finishes Season Undefeated

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Dennis Strzyzewski for the information in this story.)

The Chelsea JV football team finished its season 8-0 with a 27-13 victory over St. Joseph High School on Saturday.

Max Herter threw touchdown passes to Dominic Searl and J.J. Turnbow.  He also had a 15-yard touchdown run. Tyson Hill also ran for a touchdown in the game.

Defensively, Donovan Fisk, AJ Cobb, Drake Booker, and Mason Poulter dominated the game on the defensive line.  Myles Bieber caused a fumble and recovered one also.  Hayden Westcott led the secondary with multiple pass breakups and a fumble recovery.

“We fumbled the ball away on our first three drives,” coach Dennis Strzyzewski said. “The way our offensive line was playing, I knew we would be fine if we just held on to the ball. Once we started doing that, we were able to have success on offense.”

“This has been a strange season. We practice with the varsity now, so we don’t do as much game planning and scheme work as we have in the past. Waking up and playing on Saturdays has been strange for everyone, but our kids just love to play. They show up and compete hard. I really believe they can do great things at the next level.”
