Chelsea Kiwanis holding holiday nut sale this fall

(Chelsea Update would like to thank Bob Milbrodt for the information in this story.)

Chelsea School District Assistant Superintendent Marcus Kaemming presented information about the proposed bond program to be voted upon on Nov. 5. If approved by voters, the money raised would be used to improve the district’s buildings and sites, and upgrade technology in the district.

This week, Chelsea Kiwanians delivered 400 small pumpkins to young patients at Mott Children’s Hospital. The children may decorate the pumpkins while under lengthy treatment. Kiwanis has been working with the hospital since 1922, currently providing funds for a school teacher to prevent any of the children from getting behind in their learning.

Monday, club members will hear from Mary Kelpinski, CEO of Michigan pork producers.

This fall, we will begin a holiday nut sale. The tins of nuts are a healthy and delicious choice for your family, and as gifts during the holidays. Also for sale will be a selection of chocolate treats. Both items will be available from any Kiwanis member and at select locations around the area.

Chelsea Kiwanis meets each Monday at 6:15 p.m. in the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital cafeteria, and the speakers begin at about 6:45 p.m.

Everyone is invited to the club’s meetings to enjoy our speakers and learn about Kiwanis.
