Chelsea mayor looking for a new DDA member

Chelsea Mayor Jason Lindauer is looking for a new Downtown Development Authority member to fill a vacant seat on the board following the resignation of Palmer Morrel-Samuels.

Lindauer said he’s spoken to three people, but they respectfully declined the appointment.

So, if you live in the DDA area or have a business downtown and are interested in the 3-year appointment, there are applications on the city’s website.

Former DDA member Jim Myles, who served on the board for 12 years, publicly offer to serve again, but the mayor said previously he was looking for someone new for the board.

In his letter to the mayor, which Myles read at a recent City Council meeting, he said he’s lived in the DDA district for 17 years, and thought he would be the only one on the board who actually lives and has a business in the district.

  1. Jim Myles lives in and operates a business in the DDA district, has previous experience on both the DDA and the City Council, is thoughtful and knowledgeable on the issues, and wants to serve. Seems to me like an ideal candidate.
