Chelsea Middle School Wrestling Opens Season with Successful Tri-Meet

The Beach Middle School wrestling team opened its season Thursday in Dexter against Dexter, Lincoln and Ypsilanti. 

The team performed exceptionally well winning 80 percent of its matches. Special congratulations goes to Savannah Burk, Ethan Fody, T Hepner, and Logan Holzhausen who were all able to secure wins in their first ever wrestling matches.

The most exciting match was won by Burk who won 15-10. It was a back and forth match all the way and Burk was able to pull out a win at the end of the third period.

Collin Beckel and Sam Clifton were the only Chelsea wrestlers to wrestle two matches and they were able to win them both.

The only other match to go the full length was won by Quinton Carradine. After a scoreless first period Carradine was able to put some distance between him and his Ypsi opponent. It was a great match between two really good wrestlers. It was nice to see Carradine challenged and rise to the challenge and constantly improve as the match progressed.

Other wrestlers to win matches were Leo Alafita, Cooper Adams, Landon Conley, Caleb Fitch, Sam Forehand, Keaton Hunter, Hunter Murphy, and Nick Schultz.
