Chelsea Relay For Life: Take our poll and vote on this year’s theme

Members of the Planning Committee having fun during the first meeting for this year's Chelsea Relay For Life.

The Chelsea Relay For Life committee is looking for your help to pick a theme for this year’s event on May 18-19 at Pierce Lake Elementary School grounds.

Pictured in no particular order are some of the planning committee members: Mackenzie Pfeiffer, Tracie Frisbie, Jen Jaskot, Max Brennan and Lauren Snyder.

Included in this story is a poll of possible themes, please take a moment to make your choice heard and if you choose “other,” please email Max Brennan, community representative, Great Lakes Division of American Cancer Society, Inc.  with the theme you’d like to see. His email is [email protected].

“Our theme will be voted on by the community on www.Chelseaupdate.com,” Brennan said. “There will be four options: TV Sitcoms, Carnival, Disney, and other — with an option to email suggestions to me.”

Whether or not you plan to participate (and I hope you do sign up), you can have a say in this fun community-wide event by voting on this year’s theme.

Want to learn more about the event? There’s a kickoff meeting for teams on Feb 19 at The Depot on Jackson Street and registration takes place at 6:30 p.m. This will be followed by a program from 7-7:45 p.m.

“Our Relay For Life Kickoff Party is a notice to the community that relay is back and going to be better than ever,” Brennan said, adding, “This is a great event to attend for those who are interested in learning more about what Relay is and how to get involved in the fight against cancer.”

Included in the relay event is a celebrating of cancer survivors in the community, remembering those who lost or currently are fighting their battle, and fighting back by forming a team to participate in this year’s Relay For Life.

The event which takes place during a 24-hour period on May 18-19 from 10 a.m. – 10 a.m.

For more information or to receive an invitation to the kickoff event, contact Brennan at 248-663-3480 or email him at [email protected].

“Join us for this inspiring evening and sign up your team here,” he said.
