Get ready: July 4 chicken broil at American Legion Post 31

One of the most popular July 4 traditions in the Chelsea area is the American Legion Post 31 chicken BBQ, which this year is celebrating its 50th year.

The event will take place outside with take-out only on Saturday, July 4, at Legion Post 31, 1700 Ridge Road in Sylvan Township.

Beginning at 11 a.m., for $10 for a take-out dinner, folks can stop by and grab a half chicken, baked beans, Cole slaw, a bag of chips and a roll and butter for $10.

Take out will be available until all 550 half chickens are sold. So grab a few dinners to go and enjoy a fabulous Fourth of July meal while supporting a worthy cause.

Folks are asked to maintain social distancing and there will be directional signs to show people where to go to pay for their meals. Please bring cash.

Since this event will be held outdoors, if folks want to wear a mask they are welcome to do so, but it is not mandatory.

The proceeds from this fundraiser are used to assist area veterans.

Hope to see you there.
