I would like to publicly thank the Chelsea Teddy Bear Company and its employees for providing outstanding service to my husband, Don, on two occasions over the Christmas shopping season.
While I was at home recovering from surgery and not feeling well, Don undertook the final Christmas shopping for our children on Saturday, Dec. 21. He chose to purchase a penguin and a frog, and was pleasantly surprised to learn that the store employee would honor his $5 off coupon from Build-A-Bear Workshop, which happens to be the Teddy Bear Company’s main competitor in the general area.
But their service didn’t stop there. We received a telephone call from Jessica, one of the Teddy Bear Company employees, on Dec. 29. She told us that she and Jade, another employee, had discovered my husband’s checkbook at the bottom of a tub of toys while doing end-of-year inventory. Apparently, it had dropped out of his shirt pocket when he was bending over the tub searching for a particular toy. The employees kept his checkbook until we were able to retrieve it on Dec. 31.
By taking the coupon for a competitor’s store and making the effort to safely return his checkbook, Jade and Jessica demonstrated the advantages to customers for doing business in a small town. We appreciate their help, and will be happy to continue to purchase stuffed animals from them.
