Recent volleyball results from Beach Middle School

Chelsea Update would like to thank Jason Morris, middle school athletic director, for the information in this story.

The 7th grade blue volleyball team defeated Monroe recently winning the first game 25-18, the second 25-19 and losing the 3rd game 25-15. Emily Griggs was top server with 12 service points in each of the first two games. Melissa Jolly served 7 points and Zoe Steigerwald had 4 points. Outstanding play was turned in by Peyton Vandegrift, Paige Romelhardt and Claire Kelly.

The 7th grade gold volleyball team played a great match against Bedford, but wound up losing. Jordan Seitz had a 5-point serving run with 3 aces. Mallory Downer had a 3-point serving run with 1 ace, and Kylie Saxton had a 4-point serving run with one ace.

The 8th grade blue volleyball team dropped the first and second game against Monroe, but won the third game 25 – 16.  Catherine Wellman had 5 service points and Ally Heinen had 10 service points.   Jackie Busch had good digs for the Bulldogs and Selena Shanley and Nicole Bareis played tough up on the net.

The 8th grade gold volleyball lost to Bedford recently, but leading servers were Kylie Letourneau and Anna Knight.  Each scored an ace serve for the night.  Sara Stribe had a nice dig in the back row as well.  The team struggled with defense, but continued to encourage each other throughout the set.
