The Chelsea Community Forum will learn more about the state’s sand and gravel mine legislation on Saturday, Dec. 12 via Zoom beginning at 9 a.m.
Senate Bill 431, currently nearing passage in the Michigan Legislature, would remove virtually all controls local governments have over sand, gravel, and other mining operations within their jurisdictions.
Our local representatives (Rep. Donna Lasinski and Sen. Lana Theis) are planning to attend to update us on the bill’s status.
