Recent obituaries: Gail Pratt, Stan Schiller, Bud Ringe

Pratt_GailGail Maurine Pratt of Ann Arbor, formerly of Chelsea, age 70, died Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at her home in Ann Arbor.

She was born Aug. 22, 1943 in Jackson, Michigan, the daughter of Richard P. and Alice L. (Jenks) Manning.

Gail earned her nursing license from Mercy School of Nursing of Detroit. She worked for 40 years as a nurse at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Mercywood and Hillside Terrace.

 

Schiller_Stan_croppedStanley R. “Stan” Schiller of Chelsea, age 68, died suddenly Wednesday, April 16, 2014 in Chelsea.

He was born May 8, 1945 in Jackson, Michigan, the son of Oramel “Ozzie” and Ruth Anna (Howard) Schiller.
Stan was a member of  Chelsea High School class of 1964. He worked as a mechanic for Wally Grosseman and Rolly Spaulding. Stan then worked for the Chelsea School District Transportation Department for 17 years. Following those years, he spent his time as a freelance contractor. His specialty was fixing almost anything.

Stan was a member of the Inverness Country Club, Sons of VFW, and a Free Mason. He lived his life a Chelsea advocate and enjoyed his many new and longtime friendships.

RingeBudARichard A. “Bud” Ringe of Chelsea, age 76, died Thursday, April 17, 2014 in Chelsea, after a long illness.

He was born Feb. 9, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Richard H. and Helen A. (LaRose) Ringe.  Bud graduated from Chelsea High School in 1955. After college, he got into the metal finishing business and formed his own businesses, 3D Sales and Service and Jenex Corp.  Bud sold the businesses and retired in 2004.

He was a member of the First Congregational Church, the Elks, the Moose Lodge, Inverness Country Club, and the Masons.  Bud was President of the Thursday Night Junior House Bowling League for over 30 years. He enjoyed his family, his place up North on the lake, golfing and bowling.  Bud was loved by everybody.
